Truth and the Devil

Hopefully this isn’t reflective of the music industry as a whole, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is.
A lawyer for Sony BMG, Jennifer Pariser has views that I believe are endemic of movements within the larger entertainment industry:

Pariser has a very broad definition of “stealing.” When questioned by Richard Gabriel, lead counsel for the record labels, Pariser suggested that what millions of music fans do is actually theft. The dirty deed? Ripping your own CDs or downloading songs you already own.

Check out some of these Roy Zimmerman songs now. This one is about those who claim to be defending marrriage. He’s got more about Intelligent Design, politics, etc. Just my kinda guy.

I’m just constantly amazed at some of the talent portrayed on some of these file-sharing sites.

Inspired by Ed Brayton’s post on the subject, I was inspired to figure out my own top albums. I surprised myself in having a much more difficult time narrowing it down than I thought I would. My original goal was 10, but I just couldn’t get down that far. I went through my 6,000+ songs and found the albums that I couldn’t really live without. Some are enchanting, some are unusual, some are just plain fun, but they all keep me captivated from beginning to end.

Definitely had to post these amazing videos by Lasse Gjertsen. The first takes mouth-made sounds and edits them into an awesome drum-like vocal solo, the second is more musical and uses a drumset and piano.
